Our Inspiration
My name is Adelaide Lunn, and I am the founder of Honey’s View, inspired by my beloved grandmother, Beverly Gail Moore, affectionately known as Honey. When Honey and my grandfather, Arthur, moved into our neighborhood when I was just five years old, they became an integral part of raising my sister and me. It wasn’t until I was about 15 that I began to notice the early signs of my grandmother’s dementia. Though she and my grandfather lived only 12 doors down, we took care of her as best we could. But as the cost of care grew, we had to make the difficult decision to place her in an assisted living facility.
Even though we decorated her room with familiar pictures and furniture, Honey’s longing to “go home” never faded. From her window, all she could see was a parking lot full of cars—far from the comfort of the place she once knew. She would sit and count the cars, repeatedly asking to please “go home.” It was heart-wrenching, not only for her but for all of us who loved and cared for her.
After her passing, I pursued a career in hospice care, where I encountered countless others facing similar struggles—people desperately wanting to return home but unable to. It became clear to me that while returning to their original homes might no longer be an option, there had to be a way to bring the feeling of home to them. And so, Honey’s View was born.
